What's wrong with this picture?
I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It's almost empty. And you know why it's almost empty? I'll tell you why. Because I eat them like sunflower seeds. I put a few in my mouth. Get all the sugar chewy sweetness, spit it out, and then put a few more. My kids have had a few as well but not nearly as many as I have...not even close.
And you know who I learned this very classy habit from.....MY MOM!!!!! She always has a bucket of gumballs at her house and my kids know that when they go to Nana's house she'll give them gumballs. So I told her that I'd buy her a bucket because my kids are always taking from her. And she laughs and proceeds to tell me that SHE eats them all. That's right. She sits down WITH the bucket when she watches some TV, puts one at a time in her mouth until it loses it's flavor, then adds another one. She says she'll have like 50 in her mouth at one time. Then when she can't chew it anymore, she throws it away and starts over!!!!!
Ok but here's how sad this really is! I opened that bucket on June 15. That's right people. 10 days. Now in my defense (yeah whatever) I took a sandwich baggy FULL of gumballs to Disneyland and my sisters also ate some with me....but yeah 10 days. CRAZY!!!!
Just FYI - I finished the bucket today at 10:00pm. Just five hours later after I posted this.
Swimming Lessons
Hunter and Riley are in their second week of swimming lessons and they love it!!! Riley actually goes underwater and will swim out to her teacher now!!! At first she'd say "I don't want to go underwater" and then she'd reluctantly do it (even though I know she loves to go underwater.) Now she's doing her Tigger Bounces and everything! She even went down and picked up a ring - not on the steps!!! She just needed to be reminded how much she loves to be in the pool after a whole year of not going swimming. Now every five minutes she asks if it is time for swimming lessons. Also very fun!
Hunter is doing really good too. He can actually do a freestyle stroke, which I can't, and he breathes out to the side when he does it, another thing I can't do. It isn't perfect of course, but still really good. And he swims on his back really good too. In fact yesterday they were doing the frog kick on their backs, and he was going super fast. Mary (their teacher) went to grab his foot before he hit the pool, and missed because he was going too fast and he bonked his head on the pool. He's got a little knot on the top of his head, but got right back in and kept swimming!
Another thing, is my kiddos are so cute to each other. Riley will look over at Hunter and tell him "great job!" Hunter will wait for Riley to have her turn and he'll tell her "you're doing great Riley! that was awesome" and things like that. (they have swimming lessons at the same time but with different teachers in the same pool) And yesterday when Hunter hit his head, Riley immediately got out of the pool to check on her brother! And told him "it's okay Hunter, it's okay" Again I'm not trying to say that they are ALWAYS like this, but it is nice to see them act like that every once in while.
So in the midst of all of this...how much is it to get a pool put in at our house?!!?!? Maybe next year.....or in 15.

This was on my floor!!!
Ok I know this is gross...but this is what I swept up on my kitchen floor today. Now I haven't swept since Tuesday...not that it makes it any better. But really, I could feed a starving family with what I find on my floor on a weekly basis. I always joke as I put my dustpan full of crap in the trash that I am making my donation to some third world country. Does anyone else's floor get that dirty? Now in my defense......I have a one year old...and you KNOW they don't keep their food on their high chair tray. AND Secondly....Ryan and Reagan were over on Wednesday morning and if anyone has seen Reagan eat...you know that a lot of it ends up on the floor/table/chair/legs/shirt. So I know I could eliminate the amount of crap on my floor if I just swept after every meal...but I HATE TO SWEEP! I'm a mopper. When Edna and I shared a room growing up, it was the only room with tile in it...she swept, I mopped. Even the kitchen, she swept, I mopped. So as inventory....there is a chicken nugget, a plastic fork, a post it, a water bottle cap, a wrapper to something I'm not sure what, french fries, toast crusts, cheetos, ritz crackers, pepperoni, gum wrapper, and endless crumbs of all kinds, oh and some dirt too! So now that I've grossed everyone out....I'm gonna go sweep again!

Happy Birthday!
Ok so late posts but Paul and I both had our birthdays this last week! I turned "29 and holding" as Paul put it. And Paul turned 32!!! Holy COW! I know we're still "young" (isn't it amazing how our idea of 'young' changes as we get older) but it was a little sad for me because next year I will turn 30 AND celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary! It just goes by too quickly! This is my dumb "myspace" picture from our little trip. Paul thinks I'm dumb, as you can tell by the look on his face. Whatever!
So anyways! Happy late Birthday to Edna too!! Oh and to Stephenie!
